Title: Finality
Author: Lucinda
Pairing: Just Dru
Rating: R
Summary: Drusilla contemplates how her Daddy made her the person that she is
today - darkfic, contains torture & death.
Dru traced her fingers over the man's ribs, her nails catching on his soft skin, leaving red lines where it parted. He had screamed so much, whimpered and begged and pleaded with her, but it hadn't worked. Hadn't saved him from her, from a lovely death.
Fragments of memory stirred in her mind. Another place, one that didn't smell of hot sand and tropical flowers. A city full of serious people who tried to be good and work hard, often cloaked in fog. A place that she'd called home when she'd been a sweet girl, frightened by the visions that had haunted her. She'd begged for them to go away, once upon a time...
"Please... why are you doing this to me?" The man hanging before her gasped, his body quivering as he hung from the rafter, the chain not quite long enough for his feet to touch the floor.
She looked at him, her amber eyes flashing as she placed her fingers over his lips. "Hush, pet. Asking questions won't always get you answers."
It starts with
one thing/I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try
keep that in mind/I designed this rhyme
"But I don't understand...." His eyes were agonized, full of pain and suffering and questions. He was a strong one, otherwise he'd be nothing more than screams and whimpers and blood by now.
Her fingers traced over his lips, leaving a smear of blood over them. "You don't have to understand. Daddy taught me that a long time ago. You just have to see."
to explain in due time
All I know
Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
She walked around him, tracing the scars on his back. He'd known pain before, this pretty poppet she'd found. He'd followed her home, and she'd made him into her present. She had to fetch her own presents these days, now that her Spikey was gone. Shame, he should have known that Chardebon was only a game, a way to make her Spike jealous. Chaos demons were no fun over the long run... no imagination, no vision. Vision was very important, Daddy had taught her that.
"You've had a lot of pain, pretty pet. All whips and knives and broken glass..." She smiled, feeling his skin quiver under her fingers. "Daddy taught me such wonderful games with those... Do you want to play?"
He flinched, as if trying to escape. "N-no! I don't want to play your games."
The clock ticks life away
Its so unreal
Didn't look out below
"I tried to tell him that, you know." She smiled a little at the memories. How shy she'd once been! To think that she'd been afraid of Daddy's games, afraid of the pain-pleasure that he'd shown her. "I tried to make him stop... I prayed, I ran away, I even begged. But it didn't work."
Dru dug her nails into her toy's back as she remembered. remembered how her Daddy had left her family as presents, signs of his intentions towards her. Remembering the ways that he'd followed her, leaving her signs of his interest. "You can't stop the inevitable, my sweet."
She looked at his back, seeing the bright red blood against his warm skin, the soft color of hot cocoa. "Such a pretty picture you make... all striped."
He flinched and whimpered as she licked at the blood. "You should get help."
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on/But didn't even know
Wasted it all just to
Watch it go
Dru giggled again, remembering how hard she'd tried to escape. "Oh, I tried that, once upon a time. I ran away, ran and hid... But he found me. I thought he was the very devil himself, come to take me away. But it was my new Daddy. He killed them all, for trying to keep me away from him."
"oh god... Madre de Dios, ayudame..." His words were a soft whisper filled with pain and fear.
Dru hissed, slapping his cheek. "No! No use calling for help! Nobody will hear you, nobody will come, not now, not then, not ever!"
I kept everything inside and even though I tried
It all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually
be a memory of a time when
Dru ran her fingers over his stomach feeling the lean muscles twitch as he tried to pull away from her. He had muscles like her Spike, only they were all warm and full of fear instead of cold and angry. "Hush, kitten."
"It will all be over for you soon enough." She smiled, reaching up to touch his dark curls. "I don't need to keep you here forever. I'll have you right here..." She touched her temple.
I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
He'd tried to run away, but she'd caught him. Just like her Daddy had caught her. And he'd been all alone, with nobody to keep him safe. Now, she would eat him up. Poor little kitten.
"My Spike tried to keep me safe." She spoke, her words falling into the air that was filled with fear and sweat. "He tried to keep me safe from Daddy, but I didn't always want to be safe from him. He tried to keep me safe from everything else also. Spike was very good at taking care of me..."
I had to fall
And lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
"But Daddy broke me, threw out all the soft weak parts. He made me strong, made me into his own image." She growled, snapping her teeth at her poor kitten. "Now I don't have to worry anymore about naughty wolves, I can just eat them all up. grrr- ruff!"
Tilting her head, she realized that her pet wasn't paying any attention to her words. She reached up and tore his heart out of his ribcage, savoring the brief scream. "Naughty kitten."
"Daddy left me, and all I had was Mummy and Spikey. Then Mummy went away to help her Daddy, and I was all alone except for Spike." She sighed, placing the heart on a small plate. "Then I played, but Spike didn't like my games, and he went away from me too."
Placing the plate in the alley for the cats, she sighed. "Now, I don't have anyone. It's all gone, broken... ashes and dust. Even the stars are quiet now."
She sighed, looking into the distance, the direction that she could feel the faint tug towards her Sire, her darling dreadful daddy. "I am what you made me, Daddy."
