This site finally went up on the net on November 14, 2003. Whoopee!
Yet another update to Shadowed Lives has been added, Part 11: Tea and Bitter Biscuits, in which Draco has tea with Professor Snape... the social event of the season. Or not.
I've added an essay on writing crossovers called On Crossovers and Yummy Crackfic
Finally, I've added one drabble on the topic of "slate."
Another update to Shadowed Lives has been added, Part 10: Post and Porringer, in which Draco gets one letter he was hoping for and one he was dreading.
Granted, a brief update this time, but I want to attempt staying on top of things a little better!
One stand alone and one update for you this time. There and Back Again: A Vampire's Holiday is my first non-drabble work with Lord of the Rings. Here, the amulet Spike wore at the end of the Buffy finale sends him somewhere he really didn't expect.
Nest, an update to Shadowed Lives is up, Part 9: History, Herbology, and the Hospital Wing, in which Draco screams like a girl twice on his first day of class... not that he'd admit it.
Also, I have a mini-essay up on why I like Draco/Hermione in fanfiction up at Why Dramione?.
This time, I have a couple things for you. Amateur Night is a slashy Doyle/Xander fic setting during that infamous night at the Fabulous Ladies in Oxnard.
Then, an update to Shadowed Lives is up, Part 8: Promise Kept, in which Draco writes home about the Sorting results.
I also have 6 new drabbles up on the second Drabbles page on the topics of palm and dark.
Told you I'd update more frequently!
It's been since September since I updated, and boy oh boy is this update going to look like it. You're getting a lot of stuff all at once, and I do mean a LOT!
First, in Buffy related fics, Worlds Collide crosses Drusilla with Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Yes, it's that weird. Also, Darkness of Departure is a Spike/Dru, Angelus/Dru fic set just after Angelus regained his soul for the first time and is quite angsty.
Then, a Spander piece called Battle of the Century pits the two against each other, and, oddly, John Lennon and Elvis. Spike also gets a workout, this time with Angel, in Wardrobe Malfunction. Don't mess with Spike's wardrobe!
In unusual pairings, Gunn/Oz combines for Loners. Yet another rare pairing is Come into My Parlor, which pairs Drusilla against Tara. Then, in pairings that defy any logic, Rupert Giles and Simon Tam interact in Across the Void. And in yet another non-canon slash piece, An Obtuse Angel Is a Cute Angel, Angel/Lindsey attend a showing of Gladiator. And, hey, I think that's my favorite title to date.
In an actual canon pairing, Willow/Oz comes back together in Istanbul.
On top of that (or technically under it, I suppose), there are a slew of new fics up in non-Buffy fandoms. To begin with, there's the enormous, currently 7 part work Shadowed Life, which tells the story of Hogwarts with Draco Malfoy as the main character, and eventually with Draco/Hermione interaction. Along with this, Separation Without is a Remus/Sirius fic that takes place after Sirius is sent to Azkaban. Finally in HP fandom, Draco: Year 1 is a character-based meme taken from Draco's POV just before first year.
In yet OTHER fandoms, At Dawn is a Rebel without a Cause fic that traces what happened to Jamie after the planetarium. Torn Between is Arthurian legend, both Guinevere/Lancelot and Guinevere/Arthur in which Guinevere confides to her maid. In Goddess Girl Talk, Athena has a little gossip with her friend Artemis, and goodness knows there's always something going on in Olympus. On another note Before Once Upon a Time let me dabble in one of my favorite books series, the Chronicles of Narnia, in this case the story of Jadis. In one of the more bizarre fandoms I've written in, What Dreams May Come takes us inside the world of the Rozerem characters: Abe Lincoln, the talking beaver, and that guy in the antique diving suit. No, really. Finally, revisiting the Bones fandom, Morning Catastrophe shows that squints are human too.
But I'm still not done. The Insane Icon Meme basically crosses over almost every fandom I've ever written in along with a lot I haven't in a series of drabbles. It's quite cracky. In another bizzarro crossover, A Muppet Family Christmas Codicil crosses over one branch of the Muppets with a, shall we say, slightly less savory branch of their family tree.
I also have 12 new drabbles up on the second Drabbles page on the topics of hate (one extra one added since last time), upset, leaf/leaves/left, charity, square, cut, and leap.
Finally (yes, you've survived to the end of the list!), I have one angsty-fluff fic in the Lost fandom starring my new OTP of choice, Penny/Desmond, in Fairy Lights, set on Christmas Eve 2004.
That's it for now, although, believe you me, after practically spraining my fingers with putting this update together, I have no intention of waiting this long to update Blackberry Patch again!
For once, I'm trying to stay on top of things rather than having a slew of stuff to update all at once. Don't worry. I'm sure it'll pass.
First, No Place Like It was a response to a ficathon request, pitting Oz and Ethan Rayne together in the mountains of Switzerland.
Over in Harry Potter fandom is a short piece based on the joke Dumbledore heard about the leprechaun, the hag, and the troll who walk into a bar, Delayed Punchline is, simply put, a groaner.
I also have 2 new drabbles up on the second Drabbles page on the topic of hate.
That's it for this time!
Yet again, I waited a billion years to update, and yet again, I have a billion things to add.
First, Random Encounter is a BtVS/Firefly crossover that involves Jayne, Spike, Sihnon, and far too much cheap Core booze.
Proxy, a rather dark AtS piece, pairs Wesley and Lindsey during season 4 when Angelus briefly returned.
In Consolation, dear little Drusilla is upset her family gets taken away, so she looks to Cordelia for revenge.
In non-Jossverse fare Codicil is a short Remus/Sirius piece set at the beginning of Halfblood Prince, and as you would guess,it's angsty.
Finally, in the land of weird, very little could beat Waiting for the Endgame to the Happy Days of Quiddich, in which Draco becomes a cannibal in a scene reminiscent of Samuel Beckett's plays.
What, you think I'm kidding? Seriously. Draco. Beckett. Enough overly-literate in-jokes to brand me as a geek for the next fifty years. Skidaddle along and read it!
I have also written a moderately long essay, Andrew, Riley, and Kennedy: What the Heck Was Joss Thinking? which explores three of BtVS/AtS's most unpopular characters and where they went wrong.
I have 5 new drabbles up on the second Drabbles page: 2 on the topic "drive," two on "dominion," and one on "royalty."
Also, I have won things over on the Toy Surprises page! Two from the Wanton Folly Awards for "The Dangers of Desert Driving," one from the Fang Fetish Awards for "The Enemy Within," and one from the Love's Last Glimpse Awards for "What She Wanted." Thanks so much!
Lots and lots of things once again, so without further ado, here we go.
First, Tutelage is a BtVS/Firefly crossover that takes place after Serenity and pairs up River with a new teacher: Willow.
Another crossover, Dinner Companion, pits Lost's Hurley against not only the dangers of the jungle, but a rather weird young lady named Drusilla that he finds wandering the island.
Yet another crossover, Forbidden Fruit, has Draco Malfoy wandering the basement of the Malfoy estate to see his father's "menagerie" and running into a vampire.
Wow. Another crossover. Chance Encounter takes place about 1000 years ago, in England, where AtS's Drogyn encounters Sandman's Delirium stuck in a tree.
Hey, look! It's not a crossover! In the Stacks is a short fic that pairs off Angel with season 1's Owen from "Never Kill a Boy on the First Date."
On a completely different note, Lunch Date is a Lost Fic that explores the odd relationship between Juliet and Jack during his captivity.
Another ficlet (told you there were a lot of things this time), Houseguest stars Hagrid and another of his "interesting creatures," but it's not quite who you might expect it to be.
One more ficlet, Snape's Storytime is a weird little piece of crackfic that was inspired by a discussion at read_hp about what would happen if Snape read to a kindergarten class.
And lastly, there are 18 new drabbles up on the Drabbles page: 15 on the topic of episode title swaps, and 3 on the prompt "project."
Buffy turned 10 years old yesterday, and whoa, do I have updates for y'all.
A new multi-part fic is up and complete, The Enemy Within, a Spike/Dawn fic set after "Not Fade Away."
A ficlet, Weirder Things Have Happened, is a bit of Spike/Angel bizarreness set in AtS season 5. With a llama.
Another fic (told you it was a big update), Subtle Serpent, focuses on an AU BtVS post-season 6, where Willow is tempted in England.
In the tradition of writing fics based on Livejournal icons, I bring you Icon Fics, Part 2, which has one Simon/Kaylee ficlet from Firefly, and one Miss Piggy/PuppetAngel ficlet. Had to happen.
The characters get to talk in The Questionairre, in which Darla, Dru, Spike, and Angel all answer some questions about themselves.
In other fandoms, Madness of Love is a Romeo and Juliet fic I wrote for this year's Yuletide rare-fandom ficathon. Romeo/Mercutio, much angst, and no llamas.
In yet another fandom, Christmas Morning Surprise, another Yuletide fic which takes place in the Bones universe, involves a really, really strange case the gang has to solve on Christmas morning. There aren't llamas per say, but there is chocolate.
Did I mention there are massive numbers of new drabbles up over at Drabbles? I didn't? Well, now I did.
As I'm writing in two ficathons within the next couple weeks, there should be more stuff up soon if this isn't enough to keep you busy.
A new fic is up, Eternal Detention, centering around everybody's favorite character, Principal Snyder! ... What?
Hopefully I'll be able to update a bit more often this year. Here's wishing health and happiness to you and yours in the new year!
Two new fics are up, both about everybody's favorite guy who wants to be a giant snake, the Mayor of Sunnydale himself. The first is Beneath the Pillow, which centers on his relationship with Faith. The second, Husband and Father, deals with Edna Mae.
Several new drabbles are up at the Most Recent Drabbles page on the topics of Muppets (Cordy/Oscar 4eva!), chill, blackout, and memorial.
Brand new fic up for you, Black and White, a Dru piece set after season 4 of Angel, written for the Dark Goddess ficathon.
Also, Spike's princess kept kickin' around my brain, and what came of it was a new essay: Thicker Than Water: Drusilla's View of Family.
Several bazillion new drabbles are up at the Most Recent Drabbles page as well.
The lovely Shadows and Dust Awards gave me three lovely awards this last round: the Seer, the Entwined, and the Dazzle. Thanks so much!
Also, the Lie to Me Awards gave me a lovely banner for participating in their latest round.
By the by, just to mention my other BtVS-themed website, I've been doing loads of work over at Charm School, a Dru-themed website. If you haven't taken a gander there lately, g'head.
Whew, do I have stuff for you. First off a Spike/Cordelia fic set in BtVS season2 and AtS season 5 titled Spike's Victory.
Next, a bout of playful Internet stalking and password hijacking between Angel and Spike in season 5 of AtS, The Internet is Fun!, all told via emails from Wolfram & Hart employess.
Keeping with the theme of extreme weirdness, we have my offering from the Gud Summries ficathon, which took strange summaries from ff.net and had each of us adopt one and write a fic concerning it. Mine is Childhood Memories Gone Very, Very Wrong. It's Buffy gone desperately wacky.
In the realm of Joss's other baby, Firefly, we have the truly warped Jayne Eyre, a completed 7-part fic centering around Charlotte Bronte's brilliant novel Jane Eyre... and what would have happened if Jayne had been the lead character.
Finally on the writing front, there are several new Drabbles up, 3 on the topic "dizzy," 1 on "cats or kittens," and 14 on "Writing and Conventions" including a 12 entry look into Drusilla's diary.
Also, in a housekeeping move, I've now split the Drabbles section in two because it was getting rather enormous. You'll find drabbles from 2003 and 2004 at this page, while ones from 2005 and 2006 can be found here.
I have a bunch of new ideas zooming around my head, so more will come soon!
Big, huge nine-part complete fic to add this time, Return of the Prodigal, a look at what might have happened if Spike had taken Drusilla up on her offer to restore the family in "Crush."
Also there are 8 new drabbles up on the Drabbles page, 1 on the topic of Return of Old Acquaintances, and 7 for the topic Firsts, including a six-section B/S grouping.
More stuff a-comin' soon!
Not a huge update this time, but one new BtVS fic, set in season 1 with echoes of season two, Simply Infuriating, a short look at Giles and the glory that was Cordy Chase's complete lack of tact.
The insanity of grading looms before me, but then, hopefully, I'll have a lovely break with loads of time for writing (and three different ficathons I'm in, so there SHALL be fic).
Lots of lovely things this time, hopefully. There's a new multi-part fic done, Spike/Angel, called Vampily Ever After.
I also played with a couple new fandoms. Good Night, Sweet Prince is written from Shakespeare's Hamlet. Yeah, I'm surprised as well.
On a completely different note, Other Shoes is a Gone with the Wind fic centering on Melanie in the post-War years.
Twice in a month! Hopefully this is a trend I'll keep up with as I really miss writing.
Three sets of Drabbles are up, a total of 11 in all, on the topics of Bunnies, Rain, and Once upon a Time.
I delved into Neil Gaiman's brillian Sandman series at the start of the year, and two ficlets resulted: Abandon All Hope and Ye Who Enter Here.
I also wrote a short piece in the Harry Potter fandom, Study Session, a brief Remus/Sirius ficlet from the WMPP days. Both this and the Sandman fics can be found in the Silver Apples section.
I haven't neglected the Buffy fandom either! From the Dark is an Angel/Lindsey piece from Lindsey's POV.
Three Drabbles are up on the topic of someone looking into a mirror, centering around Dru, Joyce, and Anya.
I've also posted my Yuletide offering, which was written as a fanfic for The African Queen. If you haven't seen it, go out and see it now before both Bogie and Kate Hepburn come back from beyond to bug you! It's called Tale on a Winter's Eve, and can be found on the Silver Apples section.
Three Drabbles are up on the Drabble page on the topic of New Beginnings, a rather fitting theme for this time of year.
Also, several new Firefly-based Icons have been added on the Icons page. Remember, hotlinking is a no-no... and also, I think now impossible with the nifty program I've got running
Happy New Year to all!
Several new things up for you, and no wonder since it's been a good long while.
If you haven't already noticed, The Blackberry Patch has moved from its old address to this new one at www.herringjousting.com. The Blackberry Patch will share the address with another site I am now running, Charm School, a Drusilla-centric site. Pop on over if you've a mind to; it's got it's own separate Yahoo! group for updates, and the sites have now affiliated one another
Over in Silver Apples, there's a new ficlet up from Firefly: Pure Poetry, starring Kaylee and Jayne.
The Drabbles page has been updated with four new drabbles on the topics of Sunday/Sundae and Fall.
Two ficlets are up in the BtVS and AtS fandoms: Slave to the Rhythm, in which Faith tries to teach Tara to dance, and Win or Lose, a little story about Tara and Spike playing Scrabble.
There are also three inter-related fics from a challenge put forward by nemo_gravis on lj. For the challenge, writers were supposed to answer a 70 question meme as a character from BtVS. I did three: Angelus, Drusilla, and Spike. You might also want to check out 70 Questions Archive for everybody's responses.
For right now, that's pretty much it. I think I was able to move over all the links and images from the old address to the new one, but if you encounter anything that's broken or incomplete, drop me a line, please. Also, if you want to give the guestbook a glance, I lost all the old signatures in the move. Happily, I also lost the massive amounts of spam in it as well, but still, it looks a little lonely.
And Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Joyous Kwanzaa, Good Yule, and a Great New Year to everybody! (Did I skip anyone?)
A brand new one-shot fic is up in the Silver Apples page for other fandoms: Reflections of Reality, which takes place on the first anniversary of Sarah's journey into the Labyrinth. It was written in response to a donation at Livejournal's fandom_charity site to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
In the BtVS world, Revelations over Breakfast is up, and centers around Buffy's summer in L.A. after season 2. This will be the start of a new Jewel Box-like series revolving around people meeting over meals.
Several new Drabbles are up on the drabbles page, centered on the topics of Independence, Addiction, and Lullabies.
I'm also going to make a plug here. Fandom_charity on Livejournal is currently centering on Hurricane Katrina. Estimates are that 1.5 million people have been displaced by the storm, many of whom will have lost everything. Many, many fanfic authors, icon artists, and all sort of other fandom-based people in many different fandoms, including BtVS and AtS are offering their services. Make a request, make a donation, and you get to enjoy something tailor-made for you and the feeling you've helped others. Another charity doing the same thing is The_Fund, which is centering on supporting some Livejournalers who have been hit very hard by the storm. If you want to request something from me, leave a comment at either this or this entry, no Livejournal account necessary.
Three brand spanking new fics for you this time through. First off, there's When Harmony Met Spiky, which tries to answer the age old question of how the heck Blondie Bear and Ma Petite Creme Brulee wound up together in the first place.
Next up is Hitching a Ride, which is a crossover with BtVS and Firefly. Who's the only one to survive that long and wind up a stowaway on board Serenity? It figures...
Another new one is Joined, another crossover with Firefly, but in a very different, stream-of-consciousness vein.
Additionally, there are a few changes over at the Drabbles page. Eight new drabbles are up, one dealing with time travel and the other seven written from the point of view of Mr. Gordo for the "inanimate object pov" challenge. Also, I've slightly changed the index on that page, which is now listed from newest to oldest rather than oldest to newest.
Okay, lots of new stuff this time through. First up, there's a brand spanking new section on the site, Silver Apples. This section is for non-BtVS or AtS fic, and I'll also be listing any crossovers in there as well (crossovers will also appear in Ex Libris Bufficus too). Right now, the section has two fics from Labyrinth, two from Harry Potter, one from Alice in Wonderland, and one from Quantum Leap. All but two of them are new. Go on over and check it out.
I've also got eight new Drabbles up for this week's challenge, which was summer, numbers, or a free week.A brand new Jewel Box fic (and the last one) is up: Yesteryear's Pleasures. This one centers on our dear boy, Angelus.
Additionally, thirteen new drabbles are up on the Drabblespage. This week's challenge was "memory."
Three new mini-fics are up now, all based on Livejournal Icons from a challenge issued a little bit ago. Two are in the Buffyverse, and one is from the movie Labyrinth.
The Ficathon_Codex is continuing to grow over at Livejournal. Feel free to peruse it's listings.
Additionally, some lovely person nominated Out of the Blue at The Raison D'Etre Awards. Thank you!
A fairly small update this time. There are seven new Drabbles up from this week's Open on Sunday challenge: rewriting episodes. I chose to rewrite all the BtVS season finales.
Additionally, I've begun a new community on Livejournal specifically for indexing the masterlists of ficathons. It can be found at Ficathon Codex
Yes, it's been a long time. No, I'm not dead. I would have updated sooner, but a combination of Epstein Barr followed by a site problem has kept me from updating for a while.
There are now two new fics up. An Unexpected Song and The End of the World As We Know It are both up. They were written as back-up fics for the Slash Wedding Ficathon, and both center on Angel/Oz.
I've put up several more icons on the Icons page, including an entire set from the Slash Wedding Ficathon and several animated ones featuring Drusilla.
The Toy Surprises page has been updated with two lovely new awards.
Two new Drabbles are up, one on the topic of Sound/Silence, the other on Animals.
Finally, you may have noticed that the link to the guestbook disappeared for a while. Unfortunately, I was the victim of spam of a completely disgusting nature. I was unable to salvage the guestbook by deleting the entries, so I wound up deleting the entire guestbook. A new one is up here.
Whew! It's been a while, and that means a pretty dang BIG update. First off, I've got an essay for you: "What Fools These Mortals Be": Darla's Changing Views of Relationships and the Reality of Love, which was written for the Livejournal Essayathon.
Next, Shrek... with Wrinkles was written for the Fractured Fairytale Ficathon, and it's also gotten it's own little spot on the Fairytales from the Hellmouth page. Pairing? You wouldn't believe me if I told you....
Told you there were lots of things. I've also got another stand alone fic, Out of the Blue, which is seven parts long and complete. It's Fred/William.
The Toy Surprises page has some lovely new awards and nominations, so thank you for that!
That's it for a little bit at least. Happy New Year!
Only a fairly small update this time as next week's will be big. Five new Drabbles are up on the newly redesigned, indexed Drabble page. Happy I Ate Too Much Turkey Last Week Week to everyone in America!
Whoa. It's been over a month. For me, that's weird. For you, that's gonna be a big update.
First off, I offer fics. A Two-Girl Pig, written for the Mr. Gordo Ficathon, involves our pink hero going on an adventure with Drusilla and Spike. Tis, hopefully, funny.
The next fic is Last Will and Testament, also a Mr. G ficathon fic. This time it involves the summer after Buffy's death in season five, Cordelia, and Faith. This one isn't so much with the funny.
And, yup, I offer forth Drabbles, three on the topic of Slayers other than Buffy, one on Shakespeare, and one on illness.
Yet more stuff. New icons are up in the aptly named Icons page. This is a brand, spankin' new category: Firefly icons. There aren't many, but there's a few.
Also, the Toy Surprises page has been updated with a few new nominations, as well as three lovely awards, two from Shadows and Dust, and one from Bodice Ripper. Thanks again!
Two brand new fics for you this time. The first is a stand alone, The Dangers of Desert Driving, told from dear old Spike's POV, deals with a very strange hitchhiker he and Drusilla picked up in 1972. You know him.
The second is... almost unbelievably... the next chapter in The Alto, The Alto: Virginia 1610, London, England picks up when the boat carrying the Master and his new protege docks in London.
And there you have it for this time. Enjoy, and remember, every time you give feedback, an angel gets its wings, or something...
Six new Drabble are up for Open on Sunday's topic this week: telling secrets. Three are a Spike/Buffy cycle, and three are a Drusilla cycle.
One new Drabble has been added this week on the topic of transportation. Oh, that Winnebago!
There's a brand new stand-alone fic, my contribution to Lara's Spike/Drusilla ficathon, Pleasant Thoughts. It's more explicit than my usual fare, so be forewarned.
Sign-ups for the Mr. Gordo Ficathon continue for a few more days. Go ahead. Show your love for the pig.
Two new Drabbles up this week on the topic of faith.
Also, one new icon is up on the Icons page.
I'm currently running a sign-up for a Mr. Gordo ficathon. No, really. Should anyone care to show love for the plush pink piggy, you can sign up here.
No, I'm not dead. I've been working like mad. There are eleven new Drabbles up, one each for the topics lessons and a free swim, and the other nine form a series based on Counting Crows song titles.
In addition, the Icons page has had a small facelift, and several new icons have been added.
Also, some generally housekeeping is taking place. The Toy Surprises page has been reorganized, as has this one and the splash as well.
Seventeen new Drabbles are up, but I suppose technically you could say there are twenty as apparently the set before that didn't load for some odd reason last time.
No stand-alone fics this time through, but I am working on something. Now if Darla would only stop giving me trouble for five minutes... well, then she wouldn't be Darla, would she?
More Drabbles up, but only three this time on the topic of Rings.
Two new stand-alone fics are also up. The first, Alfresco, was written as a birthday present for Bunny, who requested Giles, Oz, sushi, and a park.
The second fic is Jailed Inside, the twenty-fifth Jewel Box fic (a series composed of separate 500 word fic that focus on a character, an emotion, and a piece of jewelry). This one focuses on Kate Lockley. Anyone remember her?
A week's worth of Drabbles, this time on the topic of Eyes. Simple little subject... and I wrote 16 of them. Eep.
I've also put up a new stand-alone fic, written for the Spike/Inanimate Object Ficathon. What One Does for Love centers on Spike's deep, abiding love for his clipboard. Yes, his clipboard.
Look... not black.
Another two weeks' worth of Drabbles are up. The topics were the 80's and vacations. In addition, there's a drabble up in supportive of gay marriage.
Yeah, so it's still black..
Two weeks' worth of Drabbles are up. The topics were ice cream and dialogue only fics.
I also have an actual stand-alone fic up in response to the recent LiveJournal fluffathon. A Highly Fluffy Story stars our hero Angel and his lovely assistant Lorne, as well as... fuzzy slippers?
I've also put up a lovely adoption (Dru from Lies My Parents Told Me) and a nomination on the Toy Surprises page.
Almost last but not least, there's a new icon up on the Icon page.
And, finally, as you will note, I've put up a banner to the Serenity site on this page, Serenity of course being the upcoming movie version of Joss Whedon's Firefly. Click away!
Look. Black. WB. Stupid. Synonyms. Yadda yadda.
Guess what I got for ya this week. If you said Drabbles, pat yourself on the back. There are twelve new ones up this week on the topic of Poetry. I did something a little different this time, though. Six of those drabbles form "The Great Spike and Angel War of 2004," which is sort of a drabble series. You'll see what I mean.
Still in black. Stupid WB.
I do believe I broke my record on drabbles this week. The topic at Open on Sunday was David Bowie song titles, and I wrote fifteen drabbles. Eeek.
One new change has been added as well, and this is something I've been meaning to do for a while. All the indexes (or indices, if you happen to be Giles) now list the rating for each fic.
Yes, the site remains in mourning. Hence the black, which will be around a while yet on the Splash Page and this page.
Nine new Drabbles are up from this week's Open on Sunday challenge. As a counterpoint to last week's topic, this one is Beginnings..
Wow. There's a fairly wide assortment of updates this week. You've already seen two changes: the Splash Page and this page are both in mourning for a while.
Yes, there are three new Drabbles up from this week's Open on Sunday challenge. The topic this week was Endings.
There's a new essay up On Fanfiction Ratings. It's a discussion of some of the problems fic writers have when trying to assign a rating to their fics
How long has it been since I updated the Scooby Snacks section? Well, I done did it. Cordelia's Dips are up and ready for some zombie-crashing party fun!
The Icon page also has a couple new icons up and one fixed so it no longer has that annoying red X.
And then, of course, there are two brand spanking new fics. The first is Zealot, the 24th installment in the Jewel Box series. This one focuses on Kendra.
For the last fic of the update, Better Than Ice Cream is my entry in the Willowficathon at livejournal. It's a Willow/Fred, so yes, that does indeed mean femslash.
Well, that oughta keep you busy for a while!
Two new sets of Drabbles are up from the previous two weeks' challenges at Open on Sunday. The first, which I wrote 12 for, was Punishment. The second, which had 3, was Hands.
In addition, the Iconpage has been updated with several new icons. If you want to use them, it'd be nice if you commented, and please upload them to your own servers.
Nine new Drabbles are up from this week's challenge: Books. In six of them, the books are actually present. The other three are crossovers with books.
Also, a new standalone fic is up: Group Therapy . It's a touch... unusual?
Five new Drabbles are up from this week's minor character challenge
Three new drabbles are up from this week's topic at Open on Sunday. The topic was, ehm, not one I usually write about. G'head. You know you're curious.Drabbles.
A total of 10 new drabbles are up: seven from a Tori Amos song title challenge, and three from the Tarot card challenge. You'll find them at the top of Drabbles.
In addition, I received four extremely lovely awards from The Shadows and Dust Awards. They're proudly displayed on the Toy Surprises page.
Two things for you this time. The first is three new drabbles. The topics were someone bleeding in an alley and/or an anniversary (as the community turned one).
The other new thing is my first-ever ficathon response. Orphans deals with Drusilla and Connor.
You'll notice one of the new things below: a Yahoo! Updates group. Go on. Sign up. Please?
And, yes, there's fic this time. The next section of the Jewel Box is up. This one focuses on Willow Kept Hidden. There are also three new drabbles, all centered around food/eatingDrabbles
Additionally, the Potential Awards gave me two lovely awards, both of which can be seen on Toy Surprises page. Thanks again.
Well, three things in this update. First of all, after an extremely loooong delay, the next chapter of the Alto is finally done! The Alto: Sarah, 1608-1610, Jamestown, Virginia Colony is up and set to be read. In addition I've brought my Drabbles up to date and changed the format. New drabbles are at the top now... and there are twelve new ones.
Additionally, the Potential Awards gave me two lovely awards, both of which can be seen on Toy Surprises page. Thanks again.
Oh, and I also changed the opening splash page a bit here with a new background. Whew!
I know, I know, I said the Alto would be getting the next one, but it didn't quite work out that way. However, I've got two new fics for you, both with spoilers from Angel's "A Hole in the World." The first is Four Hours, which centers on Spike and Angel's ride back to L.A. The other is Drying Tears, which helps out a certain someone who got left behind.
In other news, the Scooby Snacks section won best site feature at the Stinky Yak Cheese Awards! Check out Toy Surprises to see the pretty award, and thanks again!
Three new Drabbles are up from last week's dictionary challenge. Also, updated the
I've opened a new section of Livejournal icons. They're not extremely fancy. Right now, Buffy icons (with a heavy emphasis on Dru with some Spike and Darla thrown in for good measure) and some icons from the movie Labyrinth make up the small collection.
I've updated my Drabbles page with one from this week's challenge: the seven virtues and vices.
I've updated my Drabbles page with four from this week's challenge: write a character, pairing, or genre that you would normally not write. One's a bit naughty. Not terribly naughty. Bit, though.
Also, I've added a new Jewel Box fic. Unmatched deals with Buffy herself. I also corrected the title of Tarkna on the Jewel Box homepage, so everything should be hunky dory.
Here I am again. This time, there's a new Jewel Box fic, Tarkna, centering on Lorne. That's all for now! New year's resolutions broken yet?
Oh, little late addition here. Much thanks to The Funnies for the lovely awards.
I've decided to put up my drabbles from the Open on Sunday community at Livejournal. At this point, they're all on one page. Drabbles
Also, much thanks to the Vampire Kisses Awards, who gave an award to Home for the Holidays for Best Holiday fic. Check out the pretty graphic over in Toy Surprises.
A few things this week. First, the splash page is back to normal again... only hopefully the site name is a little more legible this time; same thing with the title above, hopefully. Second, new fic! The Leap to Sunnydale is a Buffy/Quantum leap crossover. Good old Dr. Beckett winds up in Sunnydale, but this is one leap unlike anything he's ever done before. And last but not least, Home for the Holidays received a pretty award from Slayer Comma The. Happy New Year everyone!
Just a few things this week. First, a new fic has been added to the Jewel Box series, Xander's Girl stars good old Anya. Also, I'm attempting to install a search engine on this page. By the way, if you're at all curious, the old updates will be stored in the Codex.
Photos were taken with permission from Never Let Go, Flights of Angel, and Much Ado About Buffy. This site was handcoded. For the main menus, the background is thistle and the text is navy. The font for large headings is Vivaldi. I am hosted by CyberPixels.
I'd also like to thank the wonderful Meg for her help in getting this thang working.
